Loginno is partnering with shipping companies to convert their entire container fleets to IoT- enabled fleets, as a permanent solution.
Using a patented low-cost device, Loginno mines cargo, and voyage data. Information access is granted through a cloud-based service to carriers, cargo owners, freight forwarders, insurers, customs, and other interested parties. The company provides value to the entire logistics chain by building the infrastructure that smart containers are built upon.
While using technology to track containers is not entirely new, Loginno’s approach differs as it involves converting the entire fleet of a shipping company’s containers into smart containers with an easy-to-install, low-cost device that has the same footprint as a fixed container vent.
Loginno’s smart device AGAM is the enabler of the data and its uniqueness gives us the advantage of getting the most cost-effective cost per data.
AGAM is a stand-alone all-in-one tracker alarm, letting you know exactly where your container is or if it has been broken into. It is the world’s only affordable, invisible, stand-alone total protection solution for shipping containers. Every container requires between two and four container vents to cover holes intended for pressure equalization. Loginno’s AGAM hardware replaces these standard container vents.
The AGAM v1 device was completed in 2013 and is now in its 5th revision. It has been tested in collaboration with several shippers and shipping companies, who assisted in performing rigorous testing of all key functionalities and validating the device. Its core functionality includes smart vibration and acoustics analyses, which provide valuable insight into both the cargo inside the container and the environment outside.
Basic functionalities include:
Vibration analysis
Movement analysis
Location analysis
Temperature analysis
Humidity analysis
Intrusion detection from any of the 6 sides
Black box logger
Primary communication using cellular networks
Battery life of 10+ years using an advanced energy generation and storage mechanism
In development: measuring container’s weight
The OnSchedule AI web and mobile application makes sure every container adheres to its schedule. OnSchedule AI is a highly intelligent shipment AI dashboard for a large number of shipments, which can show countless shipments’ status on one screen.
Basic functionality of OnSchedule AI:
Comparison of real-time tracking/events data with the planned schedule
Simple dashboard of On-Time/Not On-Time deliveries
Task management option when unexpected issues occur
Loginno offers a service-based business model. The company converts the fleets of shipping companies with Contopia, giving them capacities such as real-time tracking, 6- sided intrusion detection, scale-less weight measurement (in development), and other features.
Loginno has signed a contract of $20M with Log-In Logistica Intermodal, one of the top Latin American cabotage shipping companies (BVMF: LOGN3 Alphaliner #58). They were chosen by Loginno through “The Contopia Factor” competition to be the world’s first digital shipping company. Their container fleet will be converted to smart containers for a service charge of $20 per container per month.
Based on the first project, actual savings in selected cases were down up to 30% of total costs.
Currently, Loginno is focusing on two commercial use cases:
1. OnSchedule AI as an app sold to shippers/other stakeholders as a surcharge.
2. Operational optimization of the shipping company managing its container fleet and paying Loginno based on an agreed-upon operational index.
Loginno is also developing future business cases with customs, HLS, insurance, ports/terminals, trade financiers, and more. In addition, we are conducting research under “Contopia Labs” to get more insight which will lead to further commercialization. As one milestone to our expansion plan, we recently partnered with Marsh (a Global Leader in Insurance Broking and Risk Management).
