What Challenges are you solving in this industry

  • Cyber security of operational networks [CS]

Description of solution

Sasa Software’s GateScanner suite features proprietary Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR) technology to provide government and security agencies with extreme file-sanitization capacity to support high-security network segmentation and zero-trust schemes.

GateScanner cleanses all incoming/outgoing content, on all channels – email, USB, computing devices, cloud shares, API’s, web downloads, public-facing portals – to deliver up to 99.99% protection from file-embedded, known and unknown (‘signatureless’) malware.

In addition, with its granular content management capability, GateScanner provides extensive DLP capabilities required for the prevention of data exfiltration, either by malicious intent or by negligence, and supports data protection schemes for regulatory compliance (CCPA, GDPR).

What is the value you bring to your customers?

Government networks are attractive targets for cyberattacks. Malicious actors attempt to gain access to sensitive personal information of citizens and employees, proprietary software, strategic plans, high-security systems and other sensitive information.

Additionally, governments increasingly expand their network attack surfaces with a proliferation of online and app-based services which frequently enable file uploading. Most network attacks start with a file-based infiltration, wherein a malicious code is hidden inside an innocent office file or download link received by the target network through email or other web applications.

Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR) file-sanitization technology is the most advanced application of content purification available today. It overcomes file-embedded malicious code by extracting the operational content only, inserting the extracted content into a completely new and pristine file shell while maintaining strict adherence to the original vendor specifications. The resulting file is functionally identical yet fully disinfected, and delivered transparently to the recipient.

CDR technology is the current choice of several government agencies aiming either to isolate highly sensitive networks or to receive content from the open web in a highly secure fashion. Following implementation of GateScanner CDR protection systems, clients have seen a 99% decrease in intrusion attempts arriving through their content channels.
